About Cyn

Cynthia Rodríguez, also known as Cyn is a former Journalist. Her interest in yoga was ignited in 2008 when she was a Journalist and she was working and finishing her carrer. She found a space of peace in every class of yoga that she took and because of that she stated be interested about this. She attended a yoga class with Edgar Ortiz and she felt in love with this, after Cyn decided that she wanted to pursue teaching yoga as a second career. She began studying and learning about this art form which has now become a passion.

Cyn started teaching yoga in and around Quepos and Manuel Antonio in 2012 and has continued to study and learn every day. She got studied with several yoga masters including Marianela Ortiz and Juan Pablo Barahona. She has also studied Ashtanga with Matias Flurry, Anusara with Silvia Monge, Yoga for the Soul with Javier Francisco Ortiz, Reiki and Aromatherapy with Marianela Ortiz, The Power of the Intention with Ronald Esquivel, Prenatal Yoga with Monica Mounguiart and Human Anatomy with Irene Morales.

Always wanting to grow, she has attended many yoga workshops including a retreat in 2012 with Jill Campbell from “Acroyoga Montreal”.

In 2013, Cyn took her “Yoga Teacher Training” at Yoga Lamat School that is  located in Curridabat, San José, Costa Rica. She has also obtained her Hatha Yoga Teacher certification.

Due to her knowledge, Cyn’s classes employ several different techniques including the 5 principles of the Anusara Yoga Inspired alignment, Sufi Yoga, Hara Yoga, and Yoga of the Five Elements. Together with these techniques, Cyn’s classes also focus on therapeutic yoga and relaxing the mind and body.

In 2015 Cyn had been fascinated for the SUP Yoga Style (S: stand, U: up, P: paddleboard) and then she took her “SUP Yoga Teacher Trainning” majoring with the teacher Dashama Konah who is the founder of the “Pranashama Yoga Institute” and the creator of “Prasha Method”. In this way Cyn brought her yoga practice to other level, getting her certicated as a SUP Yoga Teacher or Yoga on the water with the paddleboard or SUP.

She is a accredited teacher for the Costa Rican Association of Yoga Teachers, you can check this here (www.asoyoga.com) also she gave class in the proyect “Fall in Love with your City”, an event held weekly in San José City, and in different projects for the communities around the area like Quepos and Parrita with the purpose of open more the yoga practice in this area.

She is the Instructor of the Hotel Parador in Manuel Antonio since 2014 and is the Instructor of the Hotel Arenas del Mar located in Manuel Antonio too, she works there since 2015. Those two places offer free yoga classes for the guests of their hotels as a complementary activity one time every week.
